Following in a long family history of woodcraft dating back to the early 1800s, I have continued in that tradition with over 30 years of various experiences in working with wood; ranging from carving treenware to furniture crafting to homebuilding. Over the last several years I have been able to take my craft to a full-time endeavor in the design and fabrication of fine furniture utilizing traditional joinery techniques.

The native hardwoods of New England provide the primary medium of which I create tables, chairs, and stools in a Shaker and contemporary style. Seats woven in colorful cotton webbing beautifully complements the highly figured woods of which the pieces are crafted. Through Fiddlehead Wood Arts, I present to you traditionally crafted fine furniture and woodcraft that is not only functional, but aesthetically pleasing and lasting.

Fiddlehead Wood Arts generally crafts its furniture from hard maple, curly maple, birds eye maple, and cherry. Additionally, birch, walnut, oak and selected exotic species are available on request. Hand applied penetrating oils topped with rubbed wax comprise the majority of the finishes on my pieces, although polyurethane is standard on the Children’s Creative Play Sets for durability.  --Tim
